PRE BLEACHING IS A SKILL SET WHICH DOES NOT RELY ON FORMULAS ALONE
The objective of pre bleaching is to lift a natural base shade that is to dark to achieve a successful target shade.
i.e.
for a successful outcome to colour 8.1 on a natural base 2 you would have to pre lighten the natural base 2 to a natural base 8 before applying the target colour 8.1.
The image below shows a natural base shade 2 having been pre bleached a shade at a time to a natural base shade 10.
The formulas provided are the formulas you will need to achieve the levels of lift required. However, each application has reached its maximum lift after 40 minutes. This is why some formulas are applied more than once to reach the higher natural base shades. You will note that formulas for natural base shades 3 and 4 are the same strength, it is the length of time the application is on the hair that makes the difference and the hair colourist having determined the right natural base shade has been achieved before being shampooed off.
No doubt you will have seen people on social media boasting they have taken their clients hair from base 2 to 10 in 40minutes using 60 or a 100 volume peroxide, In reality this will turn the hair to jelly when wet and cause the hair to break off when dry also cause cuts and swelling to the clients scalp.

We recommend when pre bleaching you colour match against against a test strip from the box that corresponds with with the level of lift you are trying to achieve.
