THINGS THAT DIFFER WHEN WORKING ON CLIENTS
AS OPPOSED TO TESTING STRIPS.
1. Always carry out a skin test before applyinhg any hair dye to the clients hair and scalp.
2. The formulas increase in vilume to cover the whole head. i.e.
(i) Whole head application: 1 tube of hair dye mixed with 75 mls. of hydrogen peroxide.
(ii) Root application only: Half a tube of hair dye mixed with 40 mls of hydrogen peroxide.
3. How to apply a first time colour on a virgin head:
(i) Mix 1 tube of hair dye with 75 mls of hydrogen peroxide and apply to the middle legths and ends only.
(ii) Wait 20 minutes to activate.
(iii) Mix half a tube of hair dye with 40 mls of hydrogen peroxide and apply to the roots and comb through.
(iv) Wait 20 minutes, then shampoo off.
The reason for colouring hair in this way is to achieve an even colour from roots to ends. The middle lengths and ends are Keratinised (Hard) and difficult to penetrate so it takes longer for the hair dye to work. Whereas the roots are still unkeratinised (Soft) by the atmosphere and remain easy for the hair dye to penetrate.
GUIDE LINES FOR WORKING ON TESTING STRIPS ONLY
The testing strips are created from 100% pure virgin human hair. The roots have been removed when creating the header, leaving the testing strips keratinised (Hard) from end to end. Allowing the formulas to be applied in one application from end to end. Where pre bleaching and more than one formula on the same testing strip is recommended, be sure to follow the "Application" instructions to the letter.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE STRENGTHS:
1. Never use hydrogen peroxide higher than 9% (30 volumr) for any application.
2. To dye hair the same base shade or the same base shade with a different tone as the natural base shade use
6% (20 volume).
3. To dye hair one shade lighter fhan the natural base shade use 6% (20 volume).
4. To dye hair Two shades lighter fhan the natural base shade use 9% (30 volume).
5. To dye hair higher than two shades lighter fhan the natural base shade pre bleach.
Please note: It is not possible to lift permanent hair dye wiith permanent hair dye.
